Walls

I built these walls around me,

and they made my life so gray.

You broke them down stone by stone,

and chased the clouds away.

I thought I built them strong enough,

to hold back all the pain.

I thought I built them high enough,

to stop the driving rain.

But a few walls still are standing,

and holding out your light.

And I feel I'm loosing gradually,

or just to weak to fight.

You know the sound of your sweet Love,

will break these walls apart.

And you'll have someone to hold you close,

and keep you in his heart.

Sometimes these things amaze me,

and I don't know where I've been.

But walls weren't meant to keep you out,

they were meant to keep me in.
