AT WORK AFTER A PARTICULARLY JOYFUL EVENING

AT WORK AFTER A PARTICULARLY JOYFUL EVENING

It's 9:18 and
I've been here
2-and-a-half hours.
I have you;
     your smell is all
around me.
You're
     in the air I'm breathing,
on my hands I can smell you,
so
I rest my face on them, close my eyes,
And try to forget
           I am not with you.

There is a wrongness
In this.
I should be in dark, warm,
        closeness, smelling you from
You, not me.

It's 10:13.
I am definitely
In the wrong
Place.
