Regret
She sits there,
On the bench,
In the park,
Beside him.
He takes a peek,
At the face beside him,
And quickly looks away,
So that she doesn't notice.
He looks once more,
Out of the corner of her eye,
She takes a peek,
At the face beside her.
Their eyes meet,
They both feel,
A connection, a power,
They've never felt before.
She smiles at him,
But is too shy to speak,
She then gets up,
And walks away.
He watches her,
Walk down the path,
She wishes she stayed,
And spoke to him.
Never again did either feel,
As strong of a connection,
As strong of a power,
That they felt that day.
