Loss

At the base of that turbid sector of my soul
lies a sediment of emotions never touched 
On the surface of its core, neatly affixed labels of
Courage - Strength - Independence
they stand there brave and proud 
in dark bold type
Nestled indiscernibly beneath
sheltered from my own facade
are the faint and painful scribblings
of a word whose name is truth.
