Life is hard

To love is to live
and if it were easy
it wouldn’t be worth it.
To have feelings
is wonderfully difficult;
to yield to these feelings
is intense living
at its most raw and powerful.
I have never been one
able to bury my emotions
nor do I want to
to love means to be defenseless
against the flames of passion
and the winds that whip them
in every direction
but the tempered heart
is the truly strong one.
Being burned by love makes
us the sharper sword
to cut through living...
