For Everything There is a SEASON

Eastern Standard Time
Eyes open 6 a.m.
Then fully come aware
laying here in bed alone
Full light comes earlier now
Makes my mornings long
More time for dreams
and feeling wants

Gazing out the window
to my right
everywhere is color
Reds Yellows
Browns and Golds
Along with the frost
on the corner of the glass
everything is screaming Fall

Lower sun
Turned-back clocks
For a while
shorter day
longer night
The furnace on

And I think
Another change of season
my hundred seventy second one
Once a year for forty three
I have witnessed especially
through this season
time go by
Since I started getting older
the passing of a year seems faster
Soon
I will see forty four

Movement out the window
catches my eye once more
I see
from a light breeze
the gentle release of a yellow leaf
from a tree
now dressed in all it's autumn glory
Let's go
floats
flitters
towards the ground

As the leaf moves
down through the air
slowly swaying on the way
my heart travels with it

Down
Down
As one
Now unattached
All alone

It's fate
up to the whim
of the wind
as I

Unknowning
Where it's going
What is coming
What will be

But just as suddenly
my view changes
Hears this wisdom
from my Spirit

"You must have Faith"
"Believe"
"Trust"
"For everything there is a season"
"With every ending comes a chance for a new beginning"
"Sometimes the winter chill must come before
again feeling summer warmth from the sun"

Laying here in bed
at 7 a.m.
yet another autumn
still alone
still waiting
my heart still wonders

How many more times
will I see leaves fall before I find
"THE ONE"
that's meant for me?
