all things made

The making of love
as opposed to simply making love
as if love were a craft
to be sold at the church
Christmas bazaar…
Love is not made
or rather manufactured as
a thing, an object
it is a creation with a soul, an entity
a new being unto itself, with its own animus
a life of its own.
So much more than what
I have or you contribute
it is as ever changing as we are
or it ceases to be
more than the sum
more than the force that
nurtures us and helps us bear
our days in some measure of
grace and contentment.
I cannot hide from love
if I cannot hide from you
my heart, my soul, my life
stripped utterly bare.
If I came into this world
with nothing at least
I can know I have helped
create more than I ever
could be unto myself
on my own
without you
without the love we
have brought to life.
