I Digress

Standing in the dressing room
checking my reflection in the mirror
my curves caressed by a flowing dress
I think of you and wonder if you would be impressed
you always liked me soft...but I digress

Drinking Jim Beam in the afternoon
  knowing you're e-mailing her
my mind is a hazy ruptured mess
   unrequited love causes much unrest
you always admired my chutzpah...but I digress

There will be a time for us, again
a short, sharp time when she's not around
and I'll walk away wounded, but that's just my guess
I see it so clearly, all risks assessed
you always are the winner...but I digress
