#1

Tears like stars flow from my eyes
Their points are sharp and biting
Leaving a wasted trail of emptiness
Where love's beautiful fingers once touched
Where smiles once danced under your playful eyes

Happiness' playground is now raw and sore
Skin yearns for your touch
Heart longs for your love
Ears crave your voice
Soul dangles by a thin silver thread...

so easily severed
by your cruelest whim.

And yet I wonder if your heart
Though confused, will remember
Love given, love taken, and
us -- sweetheart
