the smell of you

i remember the smell of your skin
no, not the scents you wear, but the scent you are

musky and sweet and
male

i don't think i could ever forget that smell

reaching out into the dark
with the scent of you all around me
surrouding me

i remember the feel of your touch
not just the touches that are laced
with urgent need
but the touches that are placed
on my skin with love

drowning in love

i remember your smile
not the one that is for everyone
but the one that is for me
i remember that smile

i never thought it was possible
to fill a room with light
with the movements of a few muscles
but you do it

oh, i remember you
your laugh, the way you look at me
with those oh so perfected puppy dog eyes
the sight of your freshly showered skin

i remember the feeling
in the pit of my stomach
that this couldn't be real
no way could i be this lucky
and i remember the feeling
when i discovered that we shared
the same soul

these things
only memories
but they still live
even though we're not
touching under the cover of darkness
even though we can't
brush lips and make sparks

oh, i remember those sparks

fireworks

they live within me
and once this horrible
separation
desperatly cruel distance
is gone
we can drown in the smell

of passion colliding with love

god, i remember that smell
