Too Easy

After all the useless work.
After all the endless pain.
After I’d finally given up.
Will she just waltz in and stop the rain?

After all the endless tears.
And then their numb and stoic end.
She walks in and now it’s clear,
I believe in love again.

	It’s just too easy,
There must be more I have to do.
I mustn’t get my hopes up,
It’s just too easy to be true.

How could it be happening,
The only soul with whom I could dance,
Could walk in as if it were nothing.
There was only a ghost of a chance.

She’s the only one, the chance was only slight.
She’s one in a million, she’s the only one who’s right.

	It’s just too easy,
I know this dream is nearly through.
I don’t want to wake up.
	God I hope it’s true.
