Why'd You Have To?
Why'd you have to find me?
I was fine without you,
learning to live single.
You knew you were not free
but still you sought me out.
Why'd you have to hug me?
Strong arms that crushed my fears
made me feel less alone.
We gave what we each craved;
it left us wanting more.
Why'd you have to kiss me?
Kiss quickly led to touch.
Your touch has no compare.
It made me feel adored,
yet wanting something more.
Why'd you have to love me?
I could have stayed aloof,
but you said the words first
and stole into my heart
just enough to break it.
Why'd you have to hurt me?
So much pain in my life;
you only added more.
You could have been my friend.
Now you've gone and ruined it.
