A FISHERMAN CASTS HIS NET OUT TO SEA
"A fisherman casts his net out to sea."
This fleeting vision I would suspend,
One captured moment of promised bounty.
Upon this image, will these lines depend,
On the weave of the web, these words attend.
I have no need for further metaphor.
Caught within hope of harvast, I'll pretend
Not to know what the fisherman fishes for.
There is no mermaid dawdling near the shore,
Wondering, watching the pattern.
I cannot weep for her anymore.
His cast was for treasure; she longed for love.
No. Let that lie. Here is my imagery;
"A fisherman casts his net out to sea."
