Changes To My Being

Intoxicating sounds of exotic music
swirl throughout the room.
Outside, the clamorous rain descends,
beating rythmically against the windows
and somehow magically blends in
like another mystical, musical instrument.

Silently, a small army of scented candles
send the sweet aroma of vanilla into the air
to slowly drift to the far reaches of my room.
Well behaved flames of a loving fire gently
reach out from the confines of it’s stone hearth
to warm a cozy bed laden with overstuffed pillows.

The flickering candle light wavers
and dances playfully on your smooth skin,
highlighting the erotic curves of your uncovered body.
Laying in a virtuous embrace, we are close to one another,
completely relaxed and free of any unchaste motives
other than to just absorb the essence our being together.

It is now……when we are together like this,
enchanted and lost in purely enamored emotions,
that I know, without a doubt, that our souls have united.
Should ever we part and our souls must separate,
they will always retain remnants from the fused embrace.
Long after you are gone, I will still feel the essence of you.

This night, you have forever changed my very being.
