Nothing More Than Poker

The sun fills me through your void eyes
My lips hold back their wordless cries
Your heart is bored, your body lies,
I struggle to release our ties.

You play with Love like it's a game
And leave the loser lost in shame,
But one day Love will find you tame
And you will be burned by Love's flame.

I will bounce back, I've lost before,
Love sees my face, it slams the door,
And you'll be back to play some more,
And I'll be nothing but your whore.

You tried to put me in my place,
And then regret fell 'cross your face.
You took me into your embrace
To ease your soul, and plead your case.

My mind is worn, I try to rest.
Your false intentions have me stressed.
I'll hold the night close to my breast
Ignore the pain with in my chest.

Your body moves as you awake.
A breath is all I've left to take.
You say three words, just for guilt's sake,
Each time you leave me at day break.

Finally, I take one last stand,
But it won't be Love that I demand.
My heart is what I've had to strand,
Now lovelessly I hold your hand.

My heart is lacking of your sun
And now your own is left undone.
The game of Love has turned out fun,
And this time I'm the play'r who's won.
