And That Is All That Matters

I feel as though all eyes are on me
His two left feet could embarrass.
His lower status in the eyes of the social
Made them laugh and point.
But I didn't care.
His eyes finally smiled,
It was a long time coming.
We enjoyed the night
Laughing with our friends
Enjoying the good times
Whlie others watched.
They gave us dirty looks
But our laughter broke their glares.
Looking back, I smile.
But that feeling in my gut
Embarrasses me.
Why should I care what others think,
Yet I do.
Life is full of choices
And mine was one of friendship
I took a friend into my arms
And managed to help him dance.
The eyes can keep watching
But mine will keep smiling,
Holding strong.
