Sweet Melody

I can remember when
Time was on our side
It seemed that the love we shared would never end
You and I together
Never letting go
Throughout my life I've known you
You have always inspired me
Making me be very the best that I can be
Teaching me the motions of love
Practicing them day by day
It seemed as if our dance would never end
But somehow the music in our life came to and end
The sweet song and its melody have disappeared into silence
And the metronome keeping the rhythm of time has ceased to continue beating.
Now I am left alone to finish this dance on my own
Marking time with every beat of my heart
Continuing on after the music has ended.
