Hey Jermey,

I got a question for you. Do you go to Munford High School?
If not your poem is good. If you do go to Munford your poem
sucks. Later.

Well, I suppose that kind of rule-of-thumb makes judging a poem pretty easy.

I loved your ramble on Titanic, and I completely agree with
your thought that Jack shouldn't have died. I am so sick of
these needless-death-only-to-milk-the-tragedy-of-life things
ruining a good love movie. I haven't seen the movie and plan
to never see it (and this is coming from someone who's read
a lot of Titanic books), no matter how good it is, because I
know he's going to die.
I like the idea of "Love Blender: The Movie." What would
the plot be?

Jean,
Here's that piece you wanted. It's a beautiful one.

The Passionate Shepherd to His Love

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove
That valleys, groves, hills, and fields,
Woods, or steepy mountain yields.

And we will sit upon rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks,
By shallow rivers to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses
And a thousand fragrant poises,
A cap of flowers, and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle;

A gown made of the finest wool
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold;

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me, and be my love.

The shepherds's swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning:
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

I wonder if anyone would like to discuss love... I mean
the true soul-mate type of devotion. You see... I have
a history of long, fun relationships that I end as soon
as seriousness and forever enter the picture.

Now, I am in my first after college ("real life")
relationship. We are always around eachother and we are
genuinely happy, but how do I know...

How do I know if it is the one. How do I know that I will
not freak out like the other times? My two special
college relationships seemed like the real thing... but
I grew tired and broke it off. I mean tired only after
four and two years, respetively. By then, I had to break
hearts to leave... I am tired of doing that. I don't want
to break this boy's heart.

I fall in love and cause men to fall in love with me. Many
think that is a blessing, but they don't see how much pain
I cause. I just cut out... how can I commit to someone if
I know I may want to leave two more years down the line?

Well, that is it... maybe my story isn't told so well, but
hopefully, the basis of my question came across.

Talley,
Hey what's up. Life is funny. Nothing is ever definite
and for sure. Feelings change by the second and we can't guess
them or control them. No one knows how they will feel 2 years,
2 months, 2 weeks, or even 2 days from now. All we have is hope.
I can't say that you will find your soul-mate and know he is the
one right away. That would be to easy. Life is just like that.
You have to search for someone you love and who loves you back.
But I'll leave you with this. Is the price of searching, maybe your
whole life, for your soulmate worth it. Even if you only spend
a few minutes with your love? Later. Live and Love.
       § Snow Leopard §

From: Tally
Date: 20 February 1998

Snow leopard,

Thank you for your thoughtful insight. I do think the
search for the "one" is well worth the time. I have
committed to one thing and that is the principle of
never settling for an individual. I think it is important
for myself, as well as the people I have been loving
with. Now, I pose another question: Is this a selfish
way to proceed? I have become very close to two (now on
three) men in my lifetime. I love who each of them are...
I took me years of finding out about them to know that I
may love them, but to stay with them would be settling.
By that time, each was determined that I was the "one" for
them. I never intended to break their hearts, but it
happened. So, back to my question... no, onto a deeper
question... am I a bad person because I cause so much
pain in the lives of men that I care deeply about?

I don't know. I guess I am asking questions that I know
the answers to... there really isn't much doubt in my mind
that you have to allow yourself and others to be close.
Not just to find your soul mate, but because you are human.
I just really hate doing it (the break up). I hate that I
always know when I am happy, but looking for more out of a
mate. I want the world, and unfortunately, I don't know if
anyone is equipped handle that request.

I want to be thankful every morning that I was lucky
enough to share the bed with a wonderful soul. I want
to step back and enjoy how my sweetheart brightens up
the ethos of a room. I want someone to hold himself
up to the high standard to which I subscribe. I would
like intelligent conversation that enlightens and
broadens my point of view. Someone who argues
with strong points instead of strong words. What else...
well I also want a nuturing spirit that understands the
ideal of peace and harmony. One who values life and energy
more than money and power... one who sees that the greatest
thing that two people could do is to join together to make
a world with such a love force... such a glow, that nothing
in the relm of reality could daunt their spirit. I would
like this grounded free thinker... I would like this world.

The world... that isn't too much to look for, is it?!?!
You know, when you refer to something as the world, it
seems impossible that you could have soo much trouble
finding it!!

-Tally

From: George Shull leopard99@hotmail.com
Date: 20 February 1998

Tally,
Out of all those virtues that you named, there is only one
place that I have found them. In my dreams. The problem with
love is that it is untamed. You'll never find what you are
truely looking for until love wants you to. The world is not
to much to ask, I think so at least. It just depends on what
you do with it when you get it.
Everyone has to be close to someone, even if it isn't your
knight in shining armor or a damsel in distress. Humans are
funny creatures. We love, cherrish, and eventually drift away
at the prospect of something more. I hate breaking up with a
passion. But as all things must come to an end it is an adamant
part of love that I can't avoid. Humans are great and weak.
And love can harm or heal.
One thing I've learned about love is that you have to cherrish
it while you have it. I'm dating a girl right now and all that
I can think about, and will let myself think about is how much
she makes me happy. I never try to think of when we will or
might break up. Pain, both real and imagined, vanish from my
mind. I can't thank her enough for my happiness. I just hope
I can make her feel as happy as I. The pain that comes to both
people in the midst of a break up, at least for me, can only be
consolidated with that happiness that you both brought each
other.
Never settling for an individual. That is a tough rule to
live by. I try not to restrict my love to my principles. I
only do that with people I think might be "the one". If they
arn't I go with the love, living and learning. No one's principles
on love and life are never wrong. Each one is tailored to each
person's loves, losses, and experiences. If you want to know my
virtues, ideas, and philosophies on love check out the December
issue of Love blender under Heart and Sheive. Or something like
that. The last word is probably wrong. It is titled "My simple
philosophy on 'life/love" It is something like that.
Well I'll let you ponder on this little letter and what it
contains. Later. And remember Live and Love.

Tally,

There are times we are looking so hard we fail to realize
that what we are looking for is right under our nose.

I pray that someday you find the right guy. I pray that
he's the one you're with now. And most of all, I pray that
when you do finally find the "one", he'll be looking your
way too!

Just remember, it's better to love people not because of,
but inspite of who they are. That is true love.

   God Bless!

Tally,

This may be harsh. But sometimes you have to stop looking
at what you WANT, but maybe at yourself and what you GIVE,
and what you can have together.

Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. In other
words, what we look for is usually right in front of us.
You never get what you want when you're looking for it.

And before you know it, you have nothing. You've looked
at all the sticks and branches and trees and suddenly you've
walked out of the forest (to further the metaphor). No more
choices, and the world is no longer yours to have.

It's not, "what can you do for me," but "what can we do together."

I read your critique of the movie and enjoyed it. However, I disagree.
If Jack had not died, Rose would not have pried herself from another
degree of personal prison. She probably would have ended up codependent
on Jack, and so his death left her stronger to seek out a life of her
own, to choose love on her own terms. Even in death, she sought out her
own heaven ... the Heart of the Sea was her personal bargaining chip. A
lot of suffering went along with that diamond, but she made it worth joy
by keeping it from the covetous hands of wealth seekers. She had wealth,
knew what it was like to live in wealth, and kept the wealth of the
diamond from infiltrating others who sought what she ultimately escaped.

The script could have been more intelligent ... but our hero and heroine
were only teenagers. Not thinking much, but loving each other a lot.

suggestions and support. Good luck and best wishes for the

To the un-named person with the lovely metaphore. Good
advice. I have a point to add. You can't always see what's
infront of you because it is not always there. You have to
look for what you want. I'm not talking about searching
every branch and twig but keep an eye open. Well good luck
to you all who are searching for the compliment to your life.

I think whether or not leonardo dicaprio (jack dawson) had
or had not died in the movie is a trivial thing.
It was so moving to see him sacrifice his life for Rose.
In the end, they were united again anyway.

I would've liked to see Jack live too, but I'm glad he died,
not b/c i didn't like him. But if he had lived that would've
made the movie so fairy-talish. My boyfriend says that if
Rose had just stayed on the boat, he would've survived.
this is my first time seeing this page. i just wanted to
respond to a comment someone had made on Jack dying in
Titanic. Whether or not he lived, that's just the way the
story goes... the effects and music is still great!

Kirk, I love the idea! YES The Love Blender, kind of a kink
take-off on the Love Boat! Or maybe, Blender of Love, The Movie
(Those with weak hearts may wish to stay in the lobby)

Really, all you have to do is get the concept kicked around a
few times in Hollywood, and you could end up with ten scripts!
Seriously! There are people Desparate for script idea's out
there.
Seriously, good commentary on the movie.
Keep up the great work!
