young love-lost love

I thought we'd always be together
I was sure our love would last
then it seemed as though your feelings
started fading awfully fast.
 
All the memories we shared
countless-too many to name
and now we face reality-our love will never be the same.

You seem as though you're changing, 
heading down a different path
I should have known we'd grow apart, and that our young love wouldn't last.

The feelings you show, now differ from mine,
my heart is broken-your feelings seem fine.

All I end up with 
after these two years
is a broken heart 
and two eyes full of tears.

The heartache I feel
won't make you stall.
And these tears that I've cried
don't hurt you at all.

So I feel like my life took a turn for the worst
and in all that I do I will fail,
But I guess in young love, 
the point to be made-is that love doesn't always prevail.
