I knew that you were the one for me

We met not so long ago, in a parking lot full of people.
We talked and we laughed and I knew immediately that you were the one for me.

I looked in your eyes that day, and I saw the warmth and love that I wanted
in my life.
We held hands and we kissed and I knew that you were the one for me.

We talked for a while by phone and on the computer, then you said "I have to 
go, there's someone else".
I hurt and I cried and I knew that you were the one for me.

I let you go, I said "goodbye, send me a Christmas card"
I felt that I had died and I knew that you were the one for me.

When Christmas came, I put up my tree alone, 
I cried and I prayed and I knew that you were the one for me.

Then one day, the phone call came, you wanted to send a Christmas card.
I held my breath and I knew that you were the one for me.

Now you are my husband and the love of my life.
My prayers have been answered and I knew that you were the one for me.

My love for you grows more and more each day
