Fire Eyes/Moment in Time

4/20/98

Eyes.
Open wide in the semi-darkness.
Just before you sank yourself into me.
I saw something in them.
Something so incredible,
I don't think I'll ever forget.

What I saw was FIRE.

For the first time
I wasn't sure what I was doing.
I was making love to a man I had no expectations of.
Until the moment your eyes, dark with fire, met mine, in the low light.
Then I knew that this time, the lovemaking, would be different.
It would be
Only,
for the moment.

Fire, please.
Chase away, for both of us, our yesterdays.
Hold off, for both of us, our tomorrows.
For a time, just live for now.
Live, just for this moment.
For both of us, I believe, seek comfort,
a moment's peace,
from what has been, and what will be.

Oh, Fire.

We both know so little about the other.
Yet somehow, it feels as though, we know enough.
Enough, for kisses, touching fingertips, roaming lips.
And now, lighting the dark, open eyes melting into mine,
with flashing, dancing, sparks of fire.
Two bodies speaking, joined, listening through the quiet.
But knowing, there is something,
in each of us, answering the other.
Even if only,
for this moment.
This sweet moment of,
FIRE
