Letting Go Of You
I long for the warmth of days gone by.
I wish for the happiness of what could have been.
It is all slipping through my fingers,
despite how desperately I try to hang on.
My heart still clings to the hope
that there is still a chance,
but you've made it clear there is none.
You are determined to go on without me.
So I begin to try and rebuild my walls.
I try not to think about a future with out you.
One day at a time, I will try to survive
without the warmth of your touch.
I know I will never love anyone
near as much as I do you.
Even though I will never fully heal,
I know I must move on.
I hope you find what you're looking for.
I hope you find happiness.
I hope you make the right decisions.
I hope only good will come your way.
If you find you were wrong.
If you do not let pride get in the way
If you want to come back
I can only hope that it will not be too late.
But for now, I have only one option left.
I'm letting go of you.
