Until The Next Romance

The trust it takes to love someone,
Is part of this life's test,
And only those who take the risk,
Enjoy this life the best.

A young teen's love is fresh and bright,
And nothing can restrain,
The fires in the depths of night,
That bring them joy or pain.

She had a quarrel with her friend,
And they separated,
She wept for how they once had felt,
So warm and elevated.

Now in deepest loneliness,
She stared in empty space,
But a better love she could not see,
Would shortly take its place.

That kind of barren loneliness,
Is sure the hardest thing,
To sit beside the telephone,
And wait for it to ring.

And doubt you'll ever see the one,
You dream about at night,
And close your eyes and squeeze them hard,
Till he comes into sight.

And put a shield up to your heart,
To keep the pain at bay,
And fail to soothe the source of pain,
No matter what you say.

But life is seldom kind enough,
Or fair enough it seems,
Or gracious in its offerings,
To grant us all our dreams.

To lose what seems an only love,
Is hard enough to bear,
But when the spirit leaves the heart,
There's nothing left in there!

A better love will take its place,
It never fails to be;
Stay confident and reassured,
New love will set you free!

Too many girls and boys forget,
And lose their tolerance,
They're sure that life has reached its end,
Until the next romance-
Until the next romance!
