Where Were You?

                  Where Were You?
Hi, it's so nice you had time to stop by from your busy schedule. The
short time we had to spend really flew by.
I know you had so much to see and do. I know you needed to run from your
pain and strife. I tried to to give you refuge from that life. but where were you?
You said no one was there for you and all the things you had to do. I tried
my best, I opened my home and my heart to put to the test, but where were you?
When it came to your time, you said I needed to call and ask if you want
to do this or that. I tried to play by your rules, but when I requested
special time just for us. Where were you?
I come home everyday not that I expect you to be there all the time. I
see your clothes and smell your perfume and somtimes hear you voice, but your
not there. Is this how we treat those that care, or is it so easy to forget the one's
that were there when no one else seemed to care.
You complain about your frieds and all the running around and how you need
sometime to rebound. I give you a place of peace and time to relax, but when I
turn my back,where were you?
In this world we live such a short time so the people who have done the most for us
should be the first on our mind. You are young and may not always think about
the tings you do. How they affect and hurt the people that really love you.
Maybe, when you're older and you've had time to think, or the next time you
bottom and think that life really stinks. You'll remeber the ones who where
there and showed you they really care, but where were you.
