"An Angel's Prayer"

Lord help the angel
hear her cry for mercy
can't You see she may not
be able to take anymore pain
	    Just hearing the boy speak
	    lights up her face in many ways 
	    And seeing him smile Lord, 
	    even you can't have her heart race
	    yet melt at the same time
She needs his love to guide her
because now, after all these years,
it's time platonic turned to romantic
for these soul mates linked at the heart
	    But he can't see her handing him her heart on a silver platter
	    instead he intimidates her by his smile and voice
	    not noticing the shine in her eyes when he speaks to her
	    they laugh and cry, while her arms long to hold him near
Unfortunately, her feelings she refuses to confess to him
in fear of losing him if he doesn't happen to feel the same way
but Lord, wouldn't it be nice if you blessed the little angel by having him
give her his heart then she wouldn't have to live in hell's heartache
