Sleep, My Love
Holding you in my arms tonight,
I cannot imagine any greater happiness.
Listening to your deep sighs as you sleep,
Tears trickle down my cheek.
I memorize the peace on your face,
And thank God for moments like these.
Your love seeps and shivers into my skin,
Nestling within the warmth of my heart.
It feels like home to snuggle up next to you,
My head resting in "my spot" on your chest.
To breathe in the smell of sweet trees in your hair.
This is home.
Where I have always belonged.
Sleep, My Love.
My spirit soars, and my soul is set free,
To join yours.
