The Man who knew too much

I should have known
that if I allowed the
flame of love to be
kindled ever more strongly
within me that I would
get burned.
I just can’t help playing
with that fire, though…
It is so beautiful.
Just as your heart is.
And even though you have
thrown some tinder on the fire
it is still my flame.
I just should have remembered
I should have known.
