A moment's notice

to remember this moment
and every sweet moment
we share together
the quiet comfort
of a love that
defies the bonds I might
place on it by trying
to contain it in this language...
But the feelings
you create within me - 
these are the small kernels 
of truth - and that truth is this:
to love you as though ours 
is the only love that matters
as if we are the only two 
people who ever existed,
and we are inventing something so 
new and precious that 
those who come after us will
weep at the joy of knowing it
that is what I feel
that is what you create inside me.
