That Night

The night we meet clouds shrouded the moon
slowly moving releasing rays of light
covering it ghostly pale again soon.
A ray feel across the river
a moon beam lit up your eyes,
the way you looked at me made me shiver.
There was no heat from the light but I was on fire inside.
You reached out for my hand and held it so tight.
Your kiss lasted until a different light shone, 
a light that came from the love borne in us.
And that light lit up our whole world,
lovelier than dawn.
How often I look at the moon and remember
that night so long ago
and I love you more than ever now...
More than you'll ever know.
