Sorry

...And on the floor in a million peices lay my heart.

On bleeding knees I carefully retrieve each tiny splintered part
placing it this way and that.
"Maybe with glue" I say to myself, "maybe with glue".
If I've heard him say it once, I've heard him say it a million times.
"I'm sorry".

On the floor at his feet I slowly look up at him.

Pushing the hair that is plastered to my tear soaked face aside.
I replie:
"Sorry doesn't cut it Mister"
