Our World
She's been in my world for as long as I can remember. But now she's just not there. I've searched high and low for her, but no where can I find her. I walk through the woods of my world. This world created just for her. I wonder where she can be. I enter a clearing. A familiar clearing. I remember all those times I sat there with her. All the times we sat the, trading hugs and kisses, trading our love. I walk in. I notice no birds chirp. No wind blows. And the air hangs heavy. At my feet I find a stone. A stone that was never there before. I bend down. It's surface is jet black, and very smooth. It glimmers in the sun of my world. I run my fingers over the stone. My fingers trace the silver letters carved on it's surface. They read:
I loved you once,
And held you dear
All within this world.
But the winds have changed
As did my heart
For it doesn't feel
The way it used to.
This world is beautiful
As was our love
But it will not live
With just your heart there.
I ran my hand back over it's surface. Tracing the letters. It's black surface shown with rainbows. As the light from the deminishing sun reflected it's rays through my tears splattered on that stone. Then the sun and my world vanished. Never again to be touched, except in my dreams.
