sitting alone

lay down your pen
leave off that pad
better yet, burn it
leaving only ashes
to implicate
what held your
attention before
come with me
and walk in the rain
the heavy drops
will soak us through
as we talk
and are reborn
to each other
in the world
raindrops
glittering
on your eyelashes
like diamonds
as we dance out
our introductions
and explanations
with a single stop
for coffee
on our journey
to arcadia
in the rain
it could be
like that
if only you would
look up from
that pen
and smile
at what could be.
