As He Walked By

He passed me in that brief moment, 
And in that moment, I saw me.
   Only ten years older, married with children 
   and well-paying job.
   'I've become a strong and solid woman.' I
   thought to myself. 'Could this be my future?'
The he stopped!
Turned to me and asked,
   "How may I help you?"
A brief pause filled the air, as I lifted my head
to meet his warm gaze.
   'I love you.' I replied
The he looked at me oddly and said-
   "So, do you want fries with that or not?"
