watch

You left it on my bedside table
the watch you once wore on your left wrist
You were always checking it absentmindedly
You said it was a nervous habit
I accepted that and all your other nervous habits
because I loved to watch your ass as you walked away

Now the time has come
to speak of many things
of your idiocy
your insatiable need for polygamy
the books and magazines and videos and phone numbers
hastily hidden from view
easy to find

Now the time has come
for me to get in my Toyota and drive
to the nearest pawn shop
because you stalk me like a maniac
maybe you'll watch me trade your Rolex
for a few bills

your thrills are questionable
and so is
my taste
