Awakening

I didn't realize I had fallen asleep.
Waiting, tortured by the clock,
knowing his class wasn't over for an hour still,
but watching the door anyways.
Finally resigning to watch some tv.

His first touch was light.
Fingertips across my arm
felt only in my dream.

I woke to the feeling of his arms wrapping around me
snuggling up to me
Me opening my tired eyes 
and seeing only his smiling face.

I could feel his love in the strength of his hug.
I knew it was true from that little sparkle in his blue-green eyes.
In the tender way he tried not to wake me.

I had no more questions.

There were no words. 
Just gentle smiles and one soft kiss
and a hug that could last forever.

The only way to wake up.
