Love's Last Words

Even as I write these words to you I learn that it is no longer you they are meant for.
They are no longer inspired by the hope of a relationship rekindled or a love reunited,
But instead are summoned from me by the soul of the one who will return to me in your place.
Pulled from me like thorns pulled from my skin, left by the rose that was once our lives.
Relieving the pain, healing the wounds, availing me the opportunity of a new love to come.
