God's bodykins, man, much better: use every man
after his desert, and who should 'scape whipping?
Use them after your own honour and dignity: the less
they deserve, the more merit is in your bounty.
Hamlet, II, ii
If I deserved to be loved
I would approach perfection
And you would no longer be as attracted to me
and probably not love me as much
Or perhaps see me as unapproachable
therefore unworthy yourself
And nothing could be as far from the truth
as such an idea
For while perfection is a goal
it is not a human destination
We are all inherently imperfect
which makes us all perfect human beings
and makes us perfectible through
the love of another
If I were perfect,
I would not think I needed anyone's love
as much as I desperately need yours.
