Painful Muse
The painful muse
that takes over the poet,
comes back to those
who know.
More than happiness,
the muse finds
inspiration from
loves wounds.
Sadness moves our pens
pain describes our loss
words that come from the heart
from the hurt,
again and again.
Should not Love be joyous?
Should not our prose be sweet?
Is love not for the happy?
Has it all been deciet?
Let us write the goodness
of love
as well as the sadness
too.
For love can be good,
joyous and sweet
if we believe
and disagree
with our muse
from time
to
time.
