bzzzzzzzzzzt

she sat there and watched as i walked by the table
i noticed her eyes and smiled with my own
i kept my composure...the best i was able
she replied with a blush that cut to the bone

i can't quite explain the feeling that struck me
like a spark that ran from my head to my toes
a lightening bolt charge that flowed with no mercy
and bounced 'round my body with no place to go

"i never thought angels could be electricians"
i muttered to myself and looked like a fool
with the giggle she gave, she made clear her mission
like a television set dropped into a pool

the current, it flowed as the evening was aging
our faces grew tired from smiling so long
the atmosphere pulsed with stray voltage raging
how i wished i could store some, and take it along

when our lips made contact, electricity grounded
the crackling of air voiced the welding of souls
as our eyes drifted open, we were fully surrounded
with the fires of our passion burning hotter than coals

the night, it grew damp, and the steam, it was singing
the flames licked our bodies as we intertwined
sparks cut the darkness, the sky, it was ringing
and as the sun peeked out, we paid it no mind

something so fierce can be something so gentle
and something so gentle can be something to fear
electrical charge can be coincidental
coincidence should be measured in amperes
