Forgive Me Kevin

Kevin,so sorry for the glitch
in our almost always caring friendship
seems a bit of miss-communication
crossed our wires
could it be that punctuation
changed our salutation
from hello to why are you here?
and if it's not me you question
then I am left with only this gesture
of humble apology and heartfelt tears
could it be I misconstrued
didn't follow the rules
of what friendship truly is and should be
just read what I feared
and caused my own tears
and forgot that to trust
is the seed
from which friendship gleans
and to never give up
so quickly 
on a friend who is so warm and so dear
so please forgive me this blunder
and take me back under
your wings where an angel should be
and we will get over
this one tiny hurdle
with nary a murmur
together
the way friends should be
