If you don't mind...

i saw you just the other day,
just one glimpse and my heart flopped in my chest,
like it was only yesterday that you held me in your arms,
and told me you loved me.
but you never looked my way,
your eyes stolen by the beautiful creature in front of you,
i think i heard you call her Stephanie.
why didn't you see me,
i fantasized that you walked away from her,
and stood next to me,
that's the way in should have been.
but you stood in my fixed gaze for brief minutes,
and then walked away with your arm around HER,
taking my broken heart with you...
   one day i'd like to have it back if you don't mind.
