Shadow Of A Soul

Dancing in the shadows,
not knowing where to turn.

Glowing like a candle,
not knowing where to burn.

Crying like a child,
not wanting to make a sound.

Searching for a soul,
not wanting it to be found.

Walking like a master,
Yet cowering in fear

Listening intently,
not really wanting to hear.

Smiling on the outside,
yet feeling down and out.

Seeing what the truth is,
yet believing in the doubt.

Taking faith in something,
when there's no faith at all.

Waiting very patiently,
ready to take the fall.

Walking with the Angels,
feet still on the ground.

Leaving for your destination,
not knowing where you're bound.

Taking away your freedom,
still free all the while.

Knowing something special,
yet refusing to smile.

Shadows of a soul,
making it very clear
that when you live in the shadows
your world is but a tear.
