clarity
might as well be in a ghetto
the slums
some dingy 5 dollar an hour hotel room
ripped wallpaper with curious provocative stains
twenty five cents for the magic fingers
pay up
shack up for awhile
wobbling dusty overhead fan nestled right next to a mirror
telltale marks on the bedframe
ashtrays
chipped coffee cups
a smell of spilled something masked with cleaning solution
ghosts here
do not disturb
do not dare
this is sacred ground
a church
let no devil cross that holy shag carpet
tainted and sprayed a thousand some times with obnoxious fluids
let no heathen spackle breath on the walls of this cathedral
entrance by invitition only
damnation
there is no light here
no warmth
no chirping of birds and no summer rain
no whispered words of love cross these borders
busted up playgrounds of carnal warfare
take up arms, children
hold up your arm
fist clenched
defiant
define the confines
look at them
stare them down
you master
you supplicant
content, chained dreamer
you see them
the souls of your brothers and sisters
silent howls from gagged, once beautiful creatures
bound, bleeding, prostrate
sodomized and brainwashed into thinking,"hmmmmm...love"
deformed
raped and taught that their place is to be that
smiles and thoughts like,"i am special"
"i have a purpose"
"i know my place"
whatcha gonna do?
there's gotta be someone more specialized in dealing with it
gotta be someone with more time
talk to someone with a phd behind their ego
talk to someone with patrons and followers and ordained wisdom
talk to someone empowered
elected, unanimously selected for the good of all people
funny, they all have answering machines
everybody screens the calls
even the holy hotel desk workers
need some clean sheets, please
someone's had a little too much fun with these
no answer
keep your fist in the air
