Eyes On You

I see you in front of me, but your back is turned on me.
You turn to look behind, but your eyes stare not at me.
I want to scream out, "hey! Here I am, 
Looking at you with loving, caring eyes."

I quietly glance your way whenever you laugh out loud
I love the way you smile, so beautiful even your eyes smile, too.
You look at me and smile a warm, friendly smile.
I smile back but my eyes say, "I love you."

You bid goodbye and walk away from me.
My eyes quietly follow you.
My heart says, "tell him, idiot!"  My head says, "no, that would be folly!"
My lips whisper, "darling..."
