Friendship
I finished your poems, I finished my chocalate ice cream.
I licked the bowl dry, and wiped my eyes clean! Oops...
I licked my bowl clean & wiped my eyes dry.
Then thought about the words you wrote.
I wanted to let you know how much of a FRIEND I am,
But then again maybe you've heard that word way to often this past month.
I was perplexed and puzzled about the poetic pondering in my pea-pot port.
Port...harbor...ship...AHA....Friend-ship...I won't say f****d in this poem:::
I will use the word friendship...UREEKA!!!! I've found Friendship at last!
Friendship is a compound word. That's what kids may say, I've heard.
Friendship has a vast number of meanings
The first definition is the one that has me beaming
Friendship is... Kind, helpful, sympathetic, peaceful,
Loving, affectionate, fond, warm-hearted, tender
Compassionate, with open arms, devoted, loyal, faithful, and above all... true.
That's the definition of me & you...
First we establish friendship in so many ways
Then we open up our hearts for compliments and praise
Then we talk and we LAUGH until blue in the face :)
Then we discover we have to meet again at this "place"
It's where we go for peace and for joy
It's the place where we know our hearts won't get destroyed
It so often lets our feelings set sail from the void
We look forward to our journeys, as our hearts beat and skip
This "loveboat" of ours is called TRUE IOWA FRIENDSHIP
It is a compound word you see, and
I like to think it's because of you & me
when you want to go for a ride on my boat
This phrase will stick with you...And I quote
"We like getting seasick on the Iowa Friendship Boat"
To Liza From your Iowa Friend Dwight
I hope and pray that you will find true love
the way you deserve true love
