More Than A Friend

When I told you that I like you,
You told me, "it's okay,
But unfortunately you I cannot woo,
Because to me you're a friend, tomorrow and today."
"I understand," I replied,
From you I expected as much.
I know these feelings I must sed aside,
And only a friend I must treat you as such."
"Do not worry," you then added,
"I am not angry at you.
I am honored, even gladdened.
By your words, I know everything's true."
When you said those words, I  felt my heart was torn,
Because now I don't like you, I love you even more.
