I took a pen and piece of parchment
And set my thoughts aright
With a final rearrangement of verses
I sat down to write.
I formed the words that I couldn't speak
For fear my voice would tell
What my heart strive to hide
That my courage had fell.
Carefully I wrote them
to speak for me,
To tell him that my heart yearns
For his love entwined with mine to be.
The sun had set and rose again
I waited for my chance
And finally I saw it
And took it with askance.
To you I gave the letter
That I have poured my heart
creating it, to carry forth
What I felt inside.
It felt like years
As I await your responce
But at last, you've sent a message too
As I read it, I felt tears
For all you've written was
A smile that took away my fears.
