untitled to a songbird
I will never show you my frightened heart,
It only takes cover inside my strong will.
But I slowly break, and fall apart.
Around some corner I would rather dart,
Than to be caught exposed, rare and scrubbed clean.
I will never show you my frightened heart.
To think of the times when it came to part,
How I would play a role, one of steel.
But I slowly break, and fall apart.
Darkness gallops in, takes over the hope,
The thought to which I cling like an infant.
I will never show you my frightened heart.
We have what never had a correct start-
Is it possible to bring that to an end?
But I slowly break, and fall apart.
I fear this ghost of us will soon depart
Unless I bleed weak, pale blood at your feet
I will never show you my frightened heart,
But I slowly break, and fall apart.
