long walk home
walking along, the sidewalk seems lonely
the lights from the houses seem so far away
as darkness aproaches, the alley, it lingers
it must look quite different in the light of day
her lips pressed against it, the glass, as a mirror
i streched my palm outwards to receive her kiss
i'd known by the distance, i could not be nearer
the proof in my footsteps; it's her heart i miss
the waking surrounding sounds folded my vision
i saw her in wings by the side of the road
i dashed with my suitcase releasing my memories
packing them back up in stories untold
further along, as tracks crossed my walkway
i peered left and right for a moment or two
she was there, dancing barefoot, ignoring the danger
i never could change her...never wanted to
backwards i glanced, for a second, so eager
a meager attempt to set course to her star
she was there, in the loving embrace of another
a lover
a lover
and i'm just another...
in need of a car
