Daylight is dimming

Daylight is dimming
Dusk draws nigh
All mortals rejoice
All but I
Pink, yellow, blue pastels
Splash across the sky
As if it were a canvas
After such a beautific exhibition its
Spectators settle down to peaceful slumber
Only I cannot rest
Piercing coal black eyes
Raven hair
Flash before my
Eyes
As slowly
Ever so slowly
The sunlight fades away and
Dies
